Online loans allow you to complete most or all of the borrowing process digitally, without visiting a bank branch. You typically begin by providing information about your identity, income, employment, requested loan amount, and other financial details. The lender may then review your application and credit information to determine whether you qualify.

If you’re approved, the lender will generally present the loan amount, interest rate or APR, fees, repayment term, and expected payment. You should review these terms carefully before accepting the offer.

After you accept and complete any required verification or documentation, the lender can process the funding. How quickly you receive the money depends on the lender, your bank, the loan type, and when the application is completed.

Not every online loan is genuinely fast or suitable for every borrower. Before applying, check the lender’s legitimacy and compare the full cost. Our guide to applying for a loan online explains the process in more detail.
